Hey there! I’m Namrata Das Adhikary. Born and brought up in the city of joy, I’ve been a lover of slow-paced life since my childhood. I love immersing myself in one place and then just be there for the next eternity. I discovered my newfound love for travelling back in 2012 when I was in high-school. Back then, my limited resources would only allow me to read a lot of micro poems and blogs about travel, and dream of places that I had no clue when I could visit.
Thankfully, within a year through college, I could convince my parents to allow me to travel. I would travel with friends, sometimes with my family, and sometimes even solo. Four years ago, I shifted to Delhi NCR- pretty lost in life with absolutely no clue about the whats and hows. Though I shifted to the capital city to study, I somehow couldn’t study whole-heartedly. And rather than investing my time and effort in rushing through my syllabus, I would travel solo, document them and write stories and poems about my journeys.
I’ve been on and off to the mountains since then- sometimes more and sometimes less. I’ve lived in villages to observe and experience the local culture from close, and have even trekked through narrow Himalayan trails to connect with nature. I’ve been to the long-lost cities to seek history and came back with a fresh perspective on life. I’ve been to the beach-side pubs, only to come back with a beer belly that doesn’t seem to leave me anymore.
Currently, I am pulling a 9 to 5 in an agency, along with balancing my love for travelling through those impromptu journeys and meaningful local expeditions
